Fighting Dachshunds Suffer 9-4 Setback
The Hamilton Thunderbirds defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 9-4. Doing his part was shortstop Donnie Reese, who went 2 for 5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. Casper Trout got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. The Thunderbirds, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.

Hoyt Wall dealt the Fighting Dachshunds a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Hamilton leading 2-1, Wall hit a first pitch slider for a run-scoring single.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Hamilton skipper Miguel Uribe.
