Thunder Bay Roughed Up By Flamingos
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and Las Vegas Flamingos were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
A good performance from right fielder Rafael Trujillo helped the Las Vegas Flamingos defeat the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-0. Trujillo hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Flamingos. Nelson McNeil was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Trujillo had a big hit for Las Vegas with no one out in the top of the ninth. With Las Vegas leading 5-0, Trujillo hit a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Flamingos up, 9-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Trujillo told the Las Vegas News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Las Vegas now has a record of 16-13 with the win.
