Stingers Sneak By Ponies, 4-3
|
Kingston got a valiant performance from pitcher Donald Kane, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toledo Stingers. Toledo won the game, 4-3. Kane threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win belongs to Mario Ledezma in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Claude Simon took the loss for Kingston. The Stingers raised their record to 8-14.
The Stingers procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Mark Cunningham. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Toledo manager David Bunting.
