Dirty Reds Hang 6-3 Loss on Battery
|
The Dayton Dirty Reds beat the Charleston Battery, 6-3. Dayton pitcher and Lukang, Taiwan, native Yin-reng Fong led the way. Fong, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 10, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. With the win, Dayton climbs to 7-4.
Dayton relied on the hitting of Alonso Gómez to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 5-2. For the game, Gómez had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
