Schmidt Slugs 2 Home Runs, Cattlemen Beat Bullets, 6-3
|
No one was more impactful than Wayne Schmidt in the 6-3 Ft. Worth win over Baltimore. Schmidt was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Chase Davis, the winner, goes to 8-5. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts over 6 innings. Marc Potts nailed down his 28th save.
Schmidt put Ft. Worth up, 6-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Roberto Silva in the top of the fifth. His 3rd home run of the season helped the Cattlemen capture the win.
"I like our moxie," said Cattlemen manager Scott Thompson.
After today's action, Ft. Worth sits at 62-39; Baltimore slips to 52-49.
