Shredders Topple Cattlemen, 3-1
|
The Hollywood Shredders went home winners at The Hollywood Bowl, thanks in large part to starter José Salinas. Salinas stifled the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, enabling Hollywood to grab the 3-1 win. In 6.1 innings, Salinas surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Félix Hernández got the save, his 20th in 21 chances.
The Shredders got a big hit from third baseman Víctor Pagueros. In the bottom of the sixth, Pagueros pounded a run-scoring double to right-center. His 3rd double of the season put the Shredders ahead, 2-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Pagueros.
The Shredders have an impressive 63-35 record.
