SMSL Announces August's Best Starter Wednesday, September 1st , 2055 Carlos Mendoza took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the USSL Mexican Summer League Pitcher of the Month award for August. The 17-year-old 84s starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 2-0 won-lost record in 2 starts. This month he fanned 20 batters in 17 innings and compiled a 0.53 ERA. To date this season, Mendoza has a record of 3 wins and 3 losses and a 3.25 ERA. He has appeared in 8 games and struck out 65 in 55.1 innings. |
