MSL Ft. Worth's Nelson Takes 2055 Most Valuable Player Award

Willie Nelson took USPL Mexican Summer League by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 18.
For his spectacular campaign, the MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen star has been named the 2055 USPL Mexican Summer League Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the second baseman.
On the season he compiled a .337 batting average to go with a .431 on-base percentage. The native of Laredo, Texas also added 13 doubles, no triples, 6 home runs, 29 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Jing-xiang Shen of the MSL Montana Pandas finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while David Acevedo of the MSL Boston Patriots finished third.
