Year Ends for Brant Sanders Jr. in Long Island
Monday, July 26th , 2055
The doctors have spoken and Brant Sanders Jr. of the Long Island Ducks didn't like what he heard. The 17-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Sanders Jr. sustained his season-ending injury during the North Ft. Myers Gators game yesterday at Dodge Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Long Island medical staff reported Sanders Jr. had a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 12 months.

So far this year Sanders Jr. has made 5 starts, tossed 24 innings, struck out 25 batters and walked 7. His record is 0-1 with a 4.88 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .209 batting average.
