Thursday, September 23rd , 2055
He may have less experience than most of his USPL Low A peers, but that didn't slow Pedro Cortés down at all in 2055.
At the age of 21, the Fort Knox center fielder has been named the winner of the USPL Low A Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .284 batting average and a .361 on-base percentage this year. In 96 games he piled up 114 hits, 9 doubles, 9 triples, 29 home runs, 56 RBIs and 75 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Len Craft of the Ladue Rams finished second in voting, while Ed Cook of the Fort Knox Centennial finished third.
