Red-Hot Bat: Wa Collects Cycle
Sunday, August 1st , 2055
Hsien-feng Wa had a day to remember at Nationals Park today, but the memory will be bittersweet.
Even though Wa hit for the cycle, his Providence Pilgrims still fell to the Ottawa Fat Cats, 10-7. The 24-year-old right fielder went 4-for-5 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored in the loss.
"It's a heartbreaker for Hsien-feng," said Providence manager Justin Moore. "He deserved to get a win after a day like that."
Hsien-feng Wa grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jesús Sánchez in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This season Wa is swinging the bat at a .272 pace. He has hit 8 home runs and scored 38 times, while driving in 39. His on-base percentage is .340 and he has played in 68 games.
