Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl
Monday, September 20th , 2055
If there wasn't a history between Freek Derksen of Colorado and Stewart Telfer of Nova Scotia, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Derksen said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season Derksen is batting .231 with 67 hits, 8 home runs, 33 RBIs, 39 walks, .336 OBP and has scored 43 runs. He has played in 91 games.
In pitching stats this season Telfer has rung up 6 wins and 9 losses in 23 games. He has an ERA of 5.17 and has fanned 133 batters in 134 innings.
