Yinzers Maldonado Lost for Year Saturday, July 3rd , 2055 The doctors have spoken and José Maldonado of the Monroeville Yinzers didn't like what he heard. The 21-year-old shortstop is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Maldonado sustained his season-ending injury during the Levittown Blue Dragons game yesterday at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Monroeville medical staff reported Maldonado had a broken kneecap and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months. For the year Maldonado has hit at a .188 clip with 13 RBIs, 3 home runs and 10 runs scored. |
