Bowers Bombs 3 HR Against Laredo Monday, August 30th , 2055 Idaho Falls Chukars right fielder Todd Bowers sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Laredo Hawks, Bowers told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Bowers pushed the Chukars past the Hawks, 7-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Bowers told reporters after the game. Todd Bowers struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Lorenzo Sánchez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Lorenzo Sánchez in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Sosa Kiyomizu in the 7th. In his season totals Bowers has 9 home runs and a .237 batting average. |
