Lighthouse Knock Off Kingfishers at MSL Long Island Ballpark

MSL Long Island took on MSL Pittsburgh in front of a lively crowd.
MSL Long Island Lighthouse starter Jean-Luc Morand turned in an exceptional performance against the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers at MSL Long Island Ballpark, resulting in a MSL Long Island win, 5-1. Morand went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-3.
With runs few and far between, the Lighthouse had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for MSL Long Island came in the bottom of the first inning, when left fielder Luis Valdéz delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Jacob Napper and made the score 3-1, Lighthouse. Valdéz went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"Jean-Luc was able to execute his pitches," said MSL Long Island manager Austin Case. "Simple as that."
The loss makes MSL Pittsburgh 17-19.
