Rainbow Mermaids fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The Rainbow Mermaids grabbed a win, 3-2, at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from MSL Thunder Bay pitcher Alberto Gonzáles. Gonzáles went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Lev Yurchik. He is now 1-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings.

Tak-wai Au-Yong was the walk-off hero for MSL Northern Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"Every loss hurts," said MSL Thunder Bay manager Ismael Barrios. "But this was a tough one."

MSL Northern Virginia, with the win, is 5-12.
