The MSL Detroit Elite beat the MSL D.C. Divided, 7-4, at MSL D.C. Ballpark. The Elite got a fine performance from center fielder Jorge Cruz, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The loss lowers the MSL D.C. record to 6-2.

Cruz contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL Detroit in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-2, Cruz took a curveball from Luis López and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Elite to leap in front, 5-4.

"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Cruz.
