Martha Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The 2055 season began for the MSL Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids with a loss to the MSL Charleston Battery at MSL Northern Virginia Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. MSL Charleston pitcher Curley Martha had a fine performance. Aarto Taipale picked up the save, his 1st.
Martha dominated for MSL Charleston, raising his record to 1-0. MSL Northern Virginia hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 3 hits over 8 innings while striking out 12.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said MSL Charleston manager Eric Craft. "It's usually not just one thing."
