MSL New Orleans Gets 2-1 Win
|
The MSL New Orleans Voodoo did just enough to sneak past the MSL Panama City Piranhas, 2-1, at MSL Panama City Ballpark. MSL New Orleans pitcher Carlos Casas, in particular, had a standout performance. In 6 innings, Casas surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Scott Stewart finished to wrap up his 5th save.
The Voodoo got a big hit from designated hitter Elend Rusk. In the top of the sixth, Rusk pounded a solo home run to right. His 11th home run of the season put the Voodoo ahead, 2-0.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Tyrone Poole.
MSL New Orleans, at 19-23, holds down 7th place in the PL MSL.
