Piranhas Deal Patriots 8-1 Loss
The MSL Panama City Piranhas thumped the MSL Boston Patriots, 8-1, at MSL Boston Ballpark. José Ruíz was a big reason his team got the win. Ruíz was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Young-lau Tung, the winning pitcher, is now 1-2. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. Despite the win, the Piranhas have a lousy 11-21 record.

With MSL Panama City leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Ruíz came up to bat against MSL Boston pitcher Pedro Ceide. Ruíz hit a fastball to left for a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Piranhas on top, 3-0.

"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Ruíz.
