Page, Surprise Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
The Surprise Shockers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Kurt Page, who stifled the Bompton offense en route to a 2-0 Shockers win at Shockers Field. Kun Ec nailed down his 25th save. The 'W' lifts Surprise's record to 53-39.
The Shockers liked what they saw from Page. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Baby Lakers to no runs on 2 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 9.
"I had a good game plan," said Page. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Geoffroy Cadaloba said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
