The 8-7 Tijuana win over Quebec City was due in large part to Casey Cooper. The Toros catcher was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Tijuana reliever Dennis Abbeel was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Kei-thing Kuang. Rusty Oomsen earned his 17th save in 19 chances.

Tom Gardner, who is tied for 10th in the 3A- in total bases with 146, helped out the Tijuana cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 4 runs.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Gardner.

The 'W' lifts Tijuana's record to 36-53.
