Sean Long pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, despite Long's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople at The Igloo. Ellesmere Island reliever Lao-che Khoo got the win, raising his record to 8-3. Sean Long was tagged with the loss. Ellesmere Island is now 46-41.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, third baseman David Coleman won it for Ellesmere Island. With the bases loaded, Coleman hit a 1-1 fastball from Nelle Oort for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Coleman.
