Toros Deal Baby Lakers 4-1 Defeat
|
The Tijuana Toros beat the Bompton Baby Lakers, 4-1. Tijuana pitcher and Bayaguana, Dominican Republic, native Pedro Rodríguez led the way. Rodríguez, now 8-4, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Marko Tapaninen earned his 4th save in 5 chances.
Tijuana took a 3-1 lead on Carlos MacKnight's 10th home run of the season. The solo home run, which MacKnight hit in the top of the seventh, left Bompton pitcher Rafiq bin Zuhair visibly frustrated.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Tijuana manager Milton Mathews. "It's usually not just one thing."
Tijuana has a record of 33-48, placing them 9th in the Menard's Low A.
