Rhinos Win at Greenport, 7-2
|
Redwood Rhinos starter Brian McDaniel hurled his team past the Greenport Harbor Whales, 7-2. McDaniel, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The win puts the Rhinos at 30-31, while the Harbor Whales drop to 46-15.
Redwood relied on the hitting of Mitsuo Suzuki to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rhinos on top, 7-2. For the game, Suzuki had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," McDaniel told the Redwood Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
