Ducks Squelch Baby Blues Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Quebec City Baby Blues and Long Island Ducks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
In a well-pitched game between the Long Island Ducks and the Quebec City Baby Blues, pitcher Lorenzo Silva was superb. The Long Island right-hander helped his team win, 3-0. Jeffrey Hogan got credit for the save for Long Island. It was his 4th of the year.
Long Island took a 3-0 lead on Carlos Torres's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Torres hit in the top of the eighth, left Quebec City pitcher Ben Bramwell shaking his head.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Long Island manager Kevin Montgomery. "Our pregame was pretty good."
Long Island, with the win, climbs to 16-37.
