Tight Tilt Goes to Rhinos, 3-2
|
The Redwood Rhinos eked out a 3-2 win versus the Tijuana Toros at Toros Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Kent Church. He was terrific. Church, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Wes T. Walker earned the save for Redwood, his 2nd.
Mitsuo Suzuki had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth for Redwood. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Redwood in front, 3-1.
Afterward, Rhinos manager Dave Parrish was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
Tijuana has now lost 4 in a row.
