Napanee beat Memphis on the strength of starter Edward Small's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-2. Small got the win, improving to 8-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8.2 innings. Small allowed 2 runs. Napanee bumps their record to 40-54 with the win.
Howard Brown, the Napanee left fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-2, Express. For the game, Brown went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Brown told the Napanee Daily News.
