Snowpeople Cut Down Otters, 5-2
|
Phil Drew was outstanding against Tulsa. The left-hander, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2053 draft, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Snowpeople 5-2 win. In 7 innings, Drew surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Ellesmere Island is now 10-14, Tulsa 12-12.
Ellesmere Island designated hitter Francisco Rosa contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Snowpeople ahead, 3-2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Rosa told the Ellesmere Island Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
