Express Snag 2-1 Win
|
The Napanee Express did just enough to secure a victory over the Hudsonville Flanderses, 2-1, at Hudsonville Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Edward Small. Small got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Small allowed 1 run. The Express go to 36-53, putting them 9th in the Silver Low A.
Napanee used the timely hitting of Del Quick to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Express on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Quick.
