Rhinos Rough Up Snowpeople, 10-1
|
The Redwood Rhinos coasted to a win over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 10-1. José Vera had a good day at the plate for Redwood. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice. Redwood reliever Emílio García got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Phil Drew was tagged with the loss. With the win, Redwood improves its record to 8-7.
Vera had a key at-bat for Redwood early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Redwood an early 4-0 lead.
"This is one game in a long season," said losing manager Jaime Torres. "The sooner we can forget about it, the better."
