The Ballard Beavers topped the Capital Hill Interns by a score of 9-8. Leading the way was right fielder Raúl Vega. Vega went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Beavers. Ballard used the timely hitting of Luis Hernández to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Beavers ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Hernández told the Ballard Observer. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
