Good production from left fielder Dave Dooley helped the Bethlehem Angel Kitties topple the Flint Crush, 7-0. Dooley was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Angel Kitties. Arch Stanton got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed no runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. The save went to Curt Reed, number 2 for him.
Phil Smith, the 20-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Smith contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Bethlehem up, 2-0.
"It was our day today," Dooley told the Bethlehem News. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
