Greenport Harbor Whales starter Chris Murton was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-2. Murton picked up the win for Greenport, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The Harbor Whales, now 5-0, have hit the ground running this season.
Greenport used a timely hit from Álex Torres to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Harbor Whales ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
