Gators Knock Off Toros, 5-3
|
North Ft. Myers second baseman Alberto Alou helped his team beat the Tijuana Toros, 5-3. Alou, who is rated as the 30th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 3 for the Gators. North Ft. Myers pitcher José Porcallo got the win. He's now 1-0. Rafael Cruz was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Tijuana is 2-2.
The Gators got a big at-bat from first baseman Juan Méndez. For the game, Méndez was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave North Ft. Myers a 2-1 lead.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Alou.
