The Ballard Beavers beat the Napanee Express, 8-3, at Paints Ballpark. Reggie Ewbank went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The 21-year old first baseman was a menace to Napanee all day. Mark Reece got credit for the save for Ballard. It was his 2nd of the year. The first-place Beavers now have a win-loss record of 27-15.

Mauro López tagged a home run off Bob Thompson in the top of the third. His 2-run blast put the Beavers on top, 2-1. In all, López had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"I had some good swings out there," said Ewbank.
