Extra-Inning Win by Hounds Over Warheads
|
Hicksville Hounds pitcher Willie Silva was in fine form, leading his team past the Amarillo Warheads, 2-1. Bob Hampton finished the game for Hicksville and earned his 20th save. The Hounds now own a record of 36-51.
Hicksville used the clutch hitting of Mike Evans to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Amarillo manager José López, "let me know."
