The Hicksville Hounds got a superb performance from pitcher Gilberto Cruz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ogallala. The Octopi won the game, 4-3. Cruz threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Ryan Lawson was credited with the save for Ogallala, his 2nd of the season. The Octopi now have a record of 26-48 with the win over Hicksville.

Ogallala used a clutch hit from Yoson Takahashi to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Octopi ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments, Takahashi told the Ogallala Chronicle: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
