The timely hitting of Steef Advocaat helped the Ogallala Octopi down the Fort Knox Centennial, 4-2. Advocaat was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Octopi. Reliever Larry Warren picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Alejandro Morales took the loss. Ogallala, with the win, climbs to 24-45.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Octopi grabbed the lead when Advocaat hit his 15th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Alejandro Morales made it 4-2, Ogallala.
Fort Knox manager Justin Saginov said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
