Getting an impressive start from Alonso Rivera, Ogallala beat Watford City by the score of 5-1. Rivera went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 4-4. The 'W' lifts Ogallala's record to 21-42.

The Octopi got an important contribution from right fielder Jim Haynes, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 0-1 fastball into left-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Octopi ahead, 2-1.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Haynes told the Ogallala Chronicle.
