Centennial Scratch Out 1-0 Win
|
Trash Panda Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Fort Knox rode a good effort from starter José Díaz to beat the Watford City Trash Pandas at Trash Panda Field. The final score was 1-0. Díaz, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks.
Fort Knox used a clutch hit from Nari Crapanzano to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Centennial ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"The old adage is true," said Crapanzano. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
Fort Knox now has a record of 38-20 with the win.
