Crowley second baseman Dale Bland had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bland hit 2 home runs, even as Hicksville beat the Cajuns, 8-7. Hicksville, now 23-33, holds down 9th place in the Premier Low A.

Juan Soto was the walk-off hero for Hicksville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hounds third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Soto told a Hicksville Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
