The Ogallala Octopi faced a tough opponent in Germantown pitcher Rodrigo Herrera, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Albuquerque by a final score of 3-2. Herrera went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Ogallala reliever Enrico Estrada was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Ryutaro Sugimoto took the loss. Yes, it was a win for Ogallala; but their 15-34 record is still nothing to boast about.

Ogallala took a 2-1 lead on Lao-che Zhu's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Germantown pitcher Ryutaro Sugimoto in the top of the eighth.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Zhu said after the game.
