Solís Delivers Walk-Off Win for Hounds
|
The Hicksville Hounds took Athletic Club KC pitcher Hughie Sworder's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hound Pound. The final score had Hicksville getting past the U-21, 4-3. Sworder went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 10. Hicksville now sits in 8th place in the Premier Low A at 17-27.
Ángelo Solís was the walk-off hero for Hicksville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hounds pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Athletic Club KC manager Andrew Berven. "The effort was great."
