Trash Pandas Best Hounds, 7-2
|
The Watford City Trash Pandas topped the Hicksville Hounds, 7-2, in USPL Low A action at Trash Panda Field. The standout performance belonged to Watford City pitcher and Bloomingdale, Tennessee, native Quentin Romero. The save went to Joseph Rollins, his 1st this season. With the win, Watford City upped its record to 23-19.
With runs few and far between, the Trash Pandas had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Watford City came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when center fielder Riley Frankcombe delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Willie Silva and made the score 2-1, Trash Pandas. Frankcombe went 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch, while scoring 2 times.
In comments to the Watford City Gazette, Romero admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
