Alejandro Martínes pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Ogallala Octopi, despite Martínes's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Ladue Rams at Nebraska Aquarium. The first-place Rams have a one-game lead in their division.

Dalton Castle, who is tied for 2nd in the PA- in RBI with 24, helped out the Ladue cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.

"Every loss hurts," said Ogallala manager Félix Cruz. "But this was a tough one."
