Crowley left fielder Maru Kobayashi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kobayashi went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs, even as Ladue beat the Cajuns, 7-6. Chuck Knight got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 11 and walking 3. Earning his 14th save for Ladue was Mario González.

Yoshihito Takeuchi had a key at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the seventh for Ladue. With a runner on 3rd and the Rams leading 6-4, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Crowley manager Neal Davis. "But we decided not to take it."

The Rams improve their record to 26-9 with the win over Crowley.
