Big Day by Gómez Ignites Cajuns Win
|
The Crowley Cajuns downed the Watford City Trash Pandas, 6-2, at Trash Panda Field. The Cajuns were led by Domingo Gómez. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Halmar Visscher, the winner, goes to 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts over 6 innings. Crowley's record now stands at 15-18, placing them 7th in the Premier Low A.
Crowley used the bat of Arturo Cortéz to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cajuns ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Crowley manager Neal Davis. "Our pregame was pretty good."
