Starting pitcher Rodrigo Herrera was a major factor in the 3-1 Kennesaw Jets triumph over the Walla Walla Walleye. The 8th-place Jets are now 37-48, the Walleye 46-39.
The result might have been different for Kennesaw, had it not been for Curt Taylor, the 24-year old shortstop . Taylor stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Kennesaw up, 2-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Kennesaw manager John Castle.
