Centennial Score 3-1 Win Over Amarillo
|
No one was more impactful than Pedro Cortés in the 3-1 Fort Knox win over Amarillo. Cortés, who is tied for 9th in the PA- in RBI with 9, was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2. Fort Knox starter Cordell Dawson was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. The save went to Elmer Cullum, his 1st this season.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Ed Cook to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Centennial on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I had a good game," said Cook. "Winning makes it even better."
Fort Knox, now 14-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
